Social skills (sometimes designated as social competence) do not have a single and determined definition, since there is a conceptual confusion in this regard, since there is no consensus on the part of the social-scientific community; However, this can be defined according to its main characteristics, and these indicate that social skills are a set of behaviors learned naturally (and therefore can be taught), which manifest themselves in interpersonal, socially accepted situations (this implies take into account social norms and legal norms of the sociocultural context in which it acts, as well as moral criteria), and oriented to obtain environmental reinforcements (social reinforcements) or self-reinforcements. The general objective of the research work was to demonstrate whether the development of social skills of medical interns influences the quality of patient care at the National Hospital Luis Nicasio Sáenz of the National Police of Peru. The type of investigation was explanatory and the application level; On the other hand, the method and design of the research was expository or retrospective; and in relation to the population under study was constituted by the National Hospital Luis Nicasio Sáenz of the National Police of Peru. Lima and the sample was 80 patients with a probability sample of 95% confidence and a margin of error of 5%.
