Fibromyalgia is a disease characterized by musculoskeletal pain chronic generalized diffuse, persistent fatigue, joint stiffness, headaches, restless sleep, problems in menstruation, changes in mood and the presence of a pressure of 11 out of 18 points located in specified sites. The treatment of Fibromyalgia is symptomatic, since the etiology is not known. The treatments are basically aimed at reducing pain and fatigue to improve the quality of sleep and the levels of activity, adaptation and quality of life of patients. At present there is no specific treatment for Fibromyalgia, because of this, many patients seek complementary therapies, as are the therapeutic massages. The objective of this research project is to look for scientific evidence about the effectiveness of therapeutic massage for the treatment of fibromyalgia reviewing the current literature and existing studies in this field to verify the effects in the treatment and in this way to be able to establish strategies to help improve the quality of life of the patient.
