Tooth extractions for orthodontic purposes have been a subject widely debated over time, since it is considered a crucial decision to choose to extract a healthy tooth only for therapeutic purposes. Although there are currently many other therapeutic devices that have reduced the frequency of treatments with extractions during the last 30 years, dental extractions remain as an option in those cases that need the correction of a severe crowding, a biprotrusion or a camouflage of a skeletal problem.
