The objective of this research is to determine the level of intelligence of the students of the 3rd and 4th cycle of the Social Work professional career of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University, Lima Headquarters during the 2018 period. The study corresponds to an investigation of descriptive type, of basic level and with a quantitative approach according to the handling of the data. The research design is non-experimental, cross-sectional. The universe of the population consists of 80 students of the 3rd and 4th cycle of the professional career of Social Work of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University, Lima Headquarters. The sample is census, that is, the entire population is taken into account. The technique used to collect the information was the survey and the instrument used was the Bar-On Emotional Inventory (1997). It is established as a conclusion that the emotional intelligence presented by the university students of the professional career of social work of the UIGV, responds preponderantly to the moderate level in 40% and in 34% responds to a high level, determining that in general it is favorable handling of emotions presented by students.
