The present study aimed to determine the measures of self-care in the prevention of ulcers by pressure and the presence of complications in patients of the program of home care PADOMI- ESSALUD Chincha high, 2017. The method used was descriptive, correlational design that seeks the relationship between variables, cross-cutting and quantitative type. The study sample was comprised of 50 patients of the Hospital, Rene PADOMI program ESSALUD, Chincha Alta. For the collection of data was used a questionnaire, with a reliability of 0.867 for the variable self-care measures in the prevention of ulcers by pressure and 0.877 for the variable presence of complications. Results showed that the 30.00% of surveyed patients show a good level with respect to the variable self-care measures in prevention of pressure ulcer the 50.00% presented a regular level and a 20.00% a bad level, there is also evidence that the 28.00% of surveyed patients show a high standard with respect to the variable presence of complications, the 50.00% have a medium and a 22.00% a low level. And with respect to the verification of the hypothesis was that the variable measures of self-care in the prevention of ulcer by pressure is directly and positively related to the variable presence of complications, according to the correlation of Spearman of 0.687 represented this as moderate result with a statistical significance of p = 0.001 being less than 0.01. Therefore, accepted the main hypothesis and the null hypothesis is rejected. The directors of the responsible institution, recommended establishing nurse training schedules to provide optimal care for the prevention of UPP in addition to seeking their standardization through protocols.
