The purpose of this research was to establish the relationship between family climate and emotional intelligence in the students of high academic performance in Callao. The research was of an applied and explanatory type, of an evaluative level and developed under a non-experimental design. The entire school population of the Educational Institution, Talent School of Callao, constituted by 200 students, is evaluated, so the sample is considered census since the entire population was evaluated. The Moos Fess Family Social Climate Scale (1984), adapted by Cesar Ruiz Alva and Eva Guerra Torino (1993), was applied to collect data. A pilot test was applied to 109 students for the validity and reliability and the Intelligence test. Emotional ICE by Bar On, adapted by Nelly Ugarriza (2002). The results of this research show that there is no significant relationship between the family climate and any of its dimensions, Family Relations, Family Development and Family Stability and the General Emotional Intelligence Quotient.
