In the context of the problems of the teaching of the teaching of mathematics problem solving and particularly the application of techniques that contribute to the processes of academic performance that involves one of the key problems is: learn to positively assess the mathematics, gain confidence in own abilities to make math, solve problems of everyday life, and learn to reason mathematically within the purposes for the year 2021: “development of mathematical thinking of the culture science, technology to understand and act in the world (OECD, 2006)”. The objective of this research was to evaluate the degree of influence of the application of problem-solving techniques in the academic performance of students in the fourth grade high school IEP San Juan de Lurigancho – UGEL 05 de Lima Metropolitana TRILCE. The type of investigation is applied, evaluative level and design is not experimental, sample is not probabilistic 120 students (male and female). Techniques and research instruments used were the following: harvesting techniques (observation structures and informal) registration technique, data analysis techniques and instruments were the questionnaires which are annexed in the document. This study showed the significant nature of the effects of the application of the techniques in the levels of the academic performance of the students who participated in the experience with a level of association between variables of 0.68, obtaining a significant degree with its results.
