The predictability of the results of a dental movement induced at the structural level, has always been a concern in orthodontics; this in order to provide patients with aesthetic results that do not harm their tissues and provide a harmonious and functional occlusion. This is how modern technology presents us to the analysis of finite elements as an additional tool for this purpose, allowing us to preview and understand intrastructurally what the changes could be at the dental, skeletal, and even the equipment to be used, resulting from the plan chosen orthopedic or dental treatment; the analysis of finite elements allows us to visualize what are the moments-forces of their charges and their consequences, either to use them in favor of a final objective or to seek a more ideal alternative treatment. The present work will address the main points of the process to reach a prediction close to reality, and understand how it affects the orthodontic biomechanics, as well as give us the current advantages and limitations.
