The objective of the present work was to determine if the use of Honey and Propolis of Apis mellífera (Bee) of the FLYM Agar in the detection of bacterial contaminants is good. Honey and Propolis, were collected in the Peasant Community of Pargay that is located in the District of Chuquibambilla of the Province of Grau, Department and Region of Apurimac. Both samples showed greater solubility in water and ethanol and in them were found metabolites such as alkaloids, triterpenoids, glycosides and carbohydrates in honey and phenolic compounds, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and glycosides in propolis. There were 80 cultures, 40 with Staphylococcus aureus ATCC No. 25923 and 40 with Escherichia coli ATCC 8739, of which 20 were cultivated with Honey (3%), 20 with Propolis (1.5%), 20 with Honey (3%) plus Propolis (1.5%) of the FLYM Agar and 20 with nutritive Agar that was taken as a standard culture medium or gold standard. In the macroscopic evaluation with Bee Honey (3%) plus Propolis (1.5%) of the FLYM Agar, two evaluation criteria were considered: isolation and visualization of the morphology of the bacterial colony; for both ATCC strains a qualification of 90% (good) and 10% (regular) was obtained and for the nutritive Agar 100% of the qualifier (good). It was concluded that the use of Honey and Propolis of Apis mellífera (Bee) of the FLYM Agar in the detection of bacterial contaminants is good.
