The study of the different modes of coping with stress about events and situations that are especially present if they have a significant impact on the life of a person such as occurs in people who have HIV and who also have to change their lifestyle to Having to initiate and continue for a lifetime a pharmacological treatment made us ask the question of how these modes of coping with Stress with adherence to antiviral treatment in HIV / AIDS patients are related and also know the areas or dimensions that could be considered significant for Adequate adherence to treatment such as social, emotional, lifestyle, work environment and health history, and which can be influenced by the way the patient is confronted with stress with HIV / AIDS. Thus, the general objective was to determine the relationship between coping with stress and adherence to treatment in patients with HIV / AIDS at the Edgardo Rebagliati National Hospital. For this purpose, a correlational descriptive investigation M1: OX r OY was performed in a sample of 50 HIV / AIDS patients from the Edgardo Rebagliati National Hospital. At the methodological level, the instruments used to measure the variables were the Coping Stress Coping Questionnaire, Carver Dispositional Form, and the Isabel Rocío Echevarría Vigo Assessment Questionnaire distributed in five dimensions, such as appearance. Social, emotional, lifestyle, work and health history. Both tests confirmed their robustness in the psychometric characteristics with their construct validity and reliability by internal consistency
