Claro's 3G and 4G mobile phone service inside department stores does not allow the correct establishment of calls and data transfer, the main affected by this situation are the staff and clients of the store. This situation is consequence of the attenuation of electromagnetic waves when crossing the air, walls, floors, metallic structures, among others from the base stations near the store to the mobile devices of the users that are inside the store. A network design is proposed as a technological solution for the improvement of 3G and 4G mobile coverage inside a department store which accomplish the minimum radio frequency acceptance requirements of the mobile operator through the joint design of a distributed antenna system and IP access network. The development of the network design follows an adapted methodology based on Top-Down Network Design achieving that the designed product improves in 100% the received signal code power levels (RSCP), 3G radiofrequency parameter that allows the connection establishment of this technology and also improves 100% the reference signal received power levels (RSRP), radio frequency parameter that allows the establishment of connection in 4G technology. The results achieved by the network design allows the improvement of 3G and 4G coverage and the best experience by the users when using these technologies inside the establishment.
