Abstract: La caries dental es una enfermedad que produce daño a nivel de esmalte y dentina; debido a esto el diente ve afectada su forma y función, la cual puede ser recuperada mediante los tratamientos restaurativos. Las nuevas tendencias de la odontología se centran en técnicas minimamente invasivas, con reducción de pasos y tiempos clínicos. En tal afán la Operatoria dental como tal ha evolucionado grandemente en cuanto a la creación de nuevos materiales dentales restauradores que presenten características adecuadas para su uso en Odontopediatría.
Dental caries is a disease that causes damage at the level of enamel and dentin; Due to this the tooth is affected its shape and function, which can be recovered through restorative treatments. New trends in dentistry focus on minimally invasive techniques, with reduction of steps and clinical times. In such eagerness the dental surgery as such has evolved greatly in terms of the creation of new restorative dental materials that present adequate characteristics for use in pediatric dentistry.
