This research work seeks to design the work area for a maintenance and repair company of heavy machinery components located in Arequipa. For this, main problem that companyhas within the operational area will be announced, which is insufficient and limited space for carrying out its operational activities, this problem causes additional annual costs of S/. 144,000.00in transfers and unnecessary displacements generating losses in sales inS/110,000.00 byyear. Also giving rise to operators not carrying out their activities comfortably and resulting in a longer operating time for which the SLP methodology will be used in conjunction with CORELAP software to improve plant distribution.Through the proposed methodology, a better distribution of the operational areas was obtained, which reflects the process analysis diagram for the three maintenance service orders, reducing the operating time by 69% for the OVERHAUL Components service order, 55% for the SELECTIVE service order, 58% (PUNCT service order) according to the Arena software. In addition, an increase in service orders is evidenced in this way the times used for each service order are improved.
