The objective of this research work is to determine the optimal level of Net International Reserves in Peru to maintain economic stability in the years 2008 to 2017, considering internal and external factors that affect the Peruvian economy. The methodology of the investigation is explanatory – correlational and is developed by the econometric model proposed by economist José A. Licandro, it was considered as an independent variable to the net international reserves, and to the dependent variables such as the monetary base, deposits in foreign currency, legal reserve and public debt. It was concluded that in the years under study an adequate level of net international reserves was not presented, and that the value that presents the highest correlation is public debt.
