The purpose of this research work is to describe and explain how information literacy (ALFIN) favors the development of access, evaluation and information use skills of students in the IX cycle of a private university in Lima. In that sense, a non-random sample of twenty-seven students from the Strategic Planning course was selected. With such participants, an active process was worked on under an action research design and a qualitative approach, describing the changes that develop in the process of acquiring information skills. Active work with students was done in an academic semester divided into three learning units, using case-based learning (ABC). An ALFIN teaching workshop was held at the beginning of the cycle and then the action research was intervened in a set of activities aimed at developing informational skills. The instruments used to measure the acquisition of informational skills were the observation guides, rubrics and an entry and exit survey, and which were applied throughout the academic cycle. The results show that there were favorable changes in the acquisition of information skills of the students who also perceived them It is concluded that the Information Literacy method applied through the techniques and instruments shows general and specific changes in the acquisition of information skills, and therefore it is recommended to implement a work program aimed at strengthening these capacities associated with the review methods. of literature in student training courses.
