This study describes the facial width in the learning styles in a subject's students at a private university of Lima. Facial width is a craniofacial trait that shows a relationship with people's socio-affective field and may be a faster and more effective alternative in the identification of personality traits that influence preference for one or more learning styles. Data on the metaphorical translation of facial width are scarce and data on its evaluation in university students are lacking. The method develops a quantitative, exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional study. Data on the facial width and learning styles of 96 students enrolled at 2019-2 period were analyzed. All data were identified from anthropometric measurements and the application of the Kolb learning styles inventory. Participants were classified into narrow cheekbones and wide cheekbones. Ji square (X2) analysis was performed to explore facial width categories in which learning preferences are given. 80% of the sample had wide cheekbones, with a preference for the divergent learning style of 69%, higher prevalence, and 9% for the accommodating style, lower prevalence. Students with wide cheekbones most often opted for the divergent style, whose traits associated with the socioemotional sphere of personality are empathy, sociability, and person orientation. The theory of Morphopsychology does not differ from what is found here about wide and narrow cheekbones. X2 revealed a P significance below 0.05 in a learning preference that generally reflects socio-emotional skills oriented towards working with others for students with wide cheekbones. She also revealed that the assimilator style was the most frequent preference for those with narrow cheekbones. It is necessary to focus more on the evaluation of this morphopsychological trait to explore the width of the cheekbones, together with the learning styles, in relation to the socio-affective traits of university students as an alternative to the use of inventory and to reinforce pedagogical strategies.
