The present research work will deepen in the benefit of collaborative learning in the course Architecture Workshop of the first cycle of the architecture career of a private university in the city of Lima. The benefit of the dimensions of collaborative learning (interpersonal skills, responsibility and team interaction) in the aforementioned course is also deepened. The work is carried out within a qualitative research approach; oriented from the research-action design, mainly because it helps us to obtain a better necessary information of the students for the investigation. The unit of analysis is made up of 61 students who, through an observation form (instrument selected according to the research-action design) used by the teacher, collects the necessary information from students' activities for research. The choice of instrument is based on that described by Hernandez, R.; Fernandez, C.; Baptista, P. (2014), who refer that the research-action design is based on three pillars: the continuous experience of people with the problem, the influence of the natural environment on the behavior of people, and the qualitative methodology. Finally, it is concluded that collaborative learning is beneficial for the first-cycle Architecture Workshop course, mainly due to the intrinsic abilities of the students and their predisposition to collaborate with their peers in team work.
