Work fulfills a basic and central role in life for human beings and for society due to the amount of time we dedicate to working and because this activity allows the satisfaction of various individual needs suchas economic and social ones. Likewise, it is a demonstration of social equality, since it enables the participation of people in order to obtain income. That is why this activity is identified by the United Nations Organization-ONU (2020) as objective 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all, Likewise, the International Labor Organization (2004) essentially defines work as the human activities that produce goods or services in an economy, while at the national level we have the Ministry of Labor, this being the governing body in matters of work and employment promotion whose The main objective is to promote the fulfillment of the labor and fundamental rights of the population and decent and productive employment. The purpose of this research is to determine the overload and its influence on the organizational commitment of the servers of the Special Protection Unit of Arequipa. A sample of the 31 workers who work in the Special Protection Unit of Arequipa has been selected, forming interdisciplinary teams and administrative personnel, applying non-probability sampling for availability. The study was signed within a quantitative scope scheme, since it sought to analyze the causal relationship of the variables that can act as a reference for similar contexts. The survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire instrument, the first was to measure the level of workload through a 6-item test Gil-Monte (2016) and for the second variable, the organizational commitment scale was, used, based on the concepts of Meyer and Allen. (1997) and which is composed of 18 items that are distributed in the Affective, Continuity and Normative dimensions, in both tests the Likert scale was configured. At the end of the results, they showed that the workload significantly influences the degree of organizational commitment of the servers of the Special Protection Unit of Arequipa. Also, there is a perception of a high quantitative workload, where more than 90.4% indicated that they had to carry out simultaneous tasks in daily or weekly periods and that a moderate-high qualitative workload is perceived, being that 25.8% of the total of 31 Respondents noted that their work gets progressively more difficult a few times a week.
