In this research work, the optimization in the manufacturing processes of the SME furniture store “ALEXIS” S.R.L. located in the city of Arequipa, by reducing distances and times in the manufacture of counterplated doors and melamine closets, for this the problem that the company has is analyzed, which is the delay in the manufacture of furniture due to the following Causes: The distribution of the plant which causes delays in the transfer of material, because the machinery and manufacturing areas are not located according to the production process; Another cause is the disorder in the manufacturing areas due to the accumulation of waste making it difficult to obtain the materials. Once the problems have been identified, the use of the following methods is proposed: SLP method to improve plant distribution and 5`s method to minimize clutter in manufacturing areas, obtaining a reduction in distance with the methods and manufacturing time of 25.27% and 6.61% respectively for counterplated doors, and a reduction of 7.59% and 8.94% respectively for melamine closets. From these reductions, ARENA software is used to model a simulation in a parameter of 1 year of manufacture, obtaining an increase of 27 counterplated doors and 25 closets in melamine, thus improving productivity by making processes Manufacturing are more efficient.
