This research aims to design a technology infrastructure architecture that allows a Peruvian public entity, such is the Ministry of Education, achieve the benefits claimed by the paradigm of private cloud computing within a framework of information security while promoting efficiency of its implementation, and effectiveness in the expected results, all in compliance with the government regulatory framework. Documentary research was conducted from secondary sources to specify concepts and terms related to cloud computing, delving into the field of information security, and to identify related experiences at national and international levels. Also, surveys were conducted to IT department heads of local ministries. The results show they valued the usage of the private cloud model and that the components of the proposed architecture meet the security needs of the institution. This research included local presence manufacturers, who with their expert judgment (biased to their own technological approach), endorsed the technical feasibility of the proposed architecture for the institution by submitting their economic proposals. This research has allowed the evaluation of various controls and management models of information technologies, framed in information security, which are deemed appropriate for possible implementation in the institution.
