Waste water treatment plants are important for the population in terms of salubrity, as served water treatment from the sewer network depends solely on them. The present report made corresponds to the automation of the “retro cleaning sump” of the “Waste water treatment plant of Santa Clara-Pariachi” located in the district of Ate Vitarte in the department of Lima. This process is indispensable as the cleaning of the sand filters located upstream depends on it, that way ensuring the proper filtering and cleaning of water that will be leaving the plant. This report has been divided into four main sections for its better comprehension: General aspects, theoretical frame, development of the solution and results. The central idea was the automation of the process making use of technological tools like PLCS, SCADA and industrial networks. This report will also show how we accomplished this in the simplest way possible. At the end of this job, the automation process was completed satisfactorily which optimized the functionality of the plant.
