The Mype in Peru represent 90% of the companies. To achieve competitiveness, managers make decisions on the information available to them on a daily basis, but this process is not structured. In this sense, this research seeks to improve the decision-making process in grocery sales of a Chiclayo company based on a computer system based on OLAP tools. First, a diagnosis of the current state of the decision-making process was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to the personnel. Next, the design of the OLAP base was carried out using the Kimball methodology to later implement the computer system with web interfaces, using the XP methodology. Finally, a comparative analysis was carried out. The results show that at the beginning the evaluated data were inconsistent and incomplete when required and it was necessary up to 24 hours to have the information, however, with the computer system based on OLAP tools, the times decreased to 14 minutes, the Inconsistencies in the data and are available when required, allowing decision-makers to make better decisions. It is concluded that decision-making in a traditional system brings a series of errors; Truthful, accessible and available information is required in an adequate time for processing, factors that a web system with an OLAP base can satisfy.
