The research work Application of a PGA to reduce environment impacts was carried out at the San Cristobal tannery company, whose main product is commercial leather, is located in Cerro Colorado - Arequipa. To apply a PGA in the organization, a diagnosis was made, using a check list. The CRI methodology was then executed, in order to evaluate the environmental aspects and impacts of the tannery company. The most relevant impacts were the accumulation of hazardous RRSS and liquid effluents with a high Cr content. The physicochemical parameters of sewage effluents were analyzed. The strategies used to minimize the most relevant impacts caused by the organization were the application of a Solid Waste Minimization Plan whose objective is to manage the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. For liquid effluents with a high Cr content, the minimization of said element is proposed by means of sodium hydroxide solution as a precipitant and aluminum polychloride as flocculant; The entire chromium minimization process was performed under laboratory tests. This research work draws conclusions based on the identification, evaluation and corrective measures established. One of the most critical environmental impacts is the initial chromium level in the effluents discharged in the tanning process with a result of 207.25 Mg / L; after laboratory tests of achievement reduce the chromium level to 12.76 Mg / L. After having carried out the investigation, it is recommended to carry out tests with different concentrations 3M, 4M and 5M to be able to minimize the Cr present in the effluents discharged in the tanning process.
