This research work has as its scope the civil infrastructure of a rail system in direct current in the city of Lima (Line 1 of the Lima metro) in which it will be evaluated for the implementation of a protection system against leakage current. The approach for this research is to propose criteria, specifications and plans that support the implementation of the protection system against leakage current in the civil infrastructure of a railway system in direct current. A technical-economic analysis will be carried out for said implementation based on the recommendations of EN 50122-2 and CNE standards. Finally, this research project proposes a trajectory for the channeling and dissipation of the leakage current to land that passes through the civil infrastructure and causes damage to the foundations.
