In the following work of professional sufficiency we seek to develop a didactic proposal for the development of critical thinking in the area of social sciences in the first year secondary school students of a private educational institution in Ate-Salamanca. The implications of the cognitive paradigm are centered on how the learner learns, that is, for the student's learning to be developed effectively it is necessary to put skills, abilities and abilities into practice, in such a way that it awakens interest in wanting to surpass oneself. Likewise, in the socio-cultural-contextual paradigm, relevance is given to the culture, customs and beliefs of individuals. In such a way that in the teaching-learning process they are based on the real context of the learner. Therefore, evaluation allows the self-reflection of the teacher in his strategies and teaching methodologies, as well as of the student in the construction and assimilation of his own learning, and from this improve the learning-teaching processes.
