This research work has aimed to determine the attitudes of parents towards people with disabilities in a private educational institution in the Surquillo district. It is a quantitative study, not experimental, with a simple descriptive design. The population sample consisted of 157 parents of students enrolled in primary education. The Attitudes towards Persons with Disabilities Scale of Verdugo, Jenaro and Arias (1995) was used to collect information on both general attitudes and each of the following dimensions: assessment of capacities and limitations, recognition / denial of rights, personal involvement, generic qualification and assumption of roles. The results show that the majority of parents (88.5%) show a positive attitude towards people with disabilities. Regarding attitudes by dimensions, it was found that a positive attitude prevails in each of them, with the highest percentage (93.6%) being observed in Personal Involvement and the lowest (70.1%) in Generic Rating. According to personal characteristics such as age, sex, grade level and contact with people with disabilities, it was obtained that men, people over 51, parents of second grade students and those who maintain contact are the groups with the greatest percentage of positive attitude.
