The general objective of the present investigation was to establish the relationship between motivation and the hierarchy of terminal and instrumental values, in teachers of an Institute of Higher Technological Education Public - Military. The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, non-causal correlational. A nonprobability convenience sample is shown. The sample consisted of 129 male teachers, ranging in age from 25 to 67 years. The ML-96 Motivation Scale and the M. Rokeach Scale of Hierarchy of Values were found. Among the results it was found that there is no significant relationship between motivation and the hierarchy of terminal and instrumental values, in teachers of an Institute of Higher Technological Education Public – Military, that is, both variables are autonomous. The implications of the results have been discussed.
