This research entitled “EFFECT OF THE GRINDED GLASS IN THE FISCAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE CONCRETE, TRUJILLO 2019“, aims to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of concrete in the fresh and hardened state, such as: workability, unit weight, content of air, resistance to compression and flexion. For the development of this research, recycled ground glass (common glass from recycled bottles of different colors) was used, this component will be replaced by fine aggregate in different percentages of 0%, 1%, 3% and 5% respectively. Granulometry tests were performed for aggregates, moisture content, loose and compacted unit weight, specific weight and absorption. In order to carry out this research, four designs (01 standard design and 3 designs with glass addition) were carried out for each design, 09 cylindrical specimens of 10 cm in diameter and 20 cm in height will be made, which were carried out with the compression test at 7, 14 and 28 days. Rectangular molds of 6 ”X 6” X 21 ”were also made, for bending strength tests on beams, 02 molds for each design, which will break at 28 days of age. In total, 03 cylindrical molds and 2 rectangular molds were tested for each design, obtaining a total of 36 cylindrical specimens and 08 specimens of beams. The results show that the concrete with the addition of ground glass with a 5% replacement of fine aggregate managed to increase the compressive strength of the concrete with a percentage of 114% compared to the standard design that reached up to 102%, this characteristic being the most outstanding. As for its bending strength in beams, none of the designs has significant variations, the 3% design has a flexural strength of 45.61 kg / cm2, this being the highest value obtained with respect to the other designs. With these results it can be affirmed that the partial replacement of the fine aggregate with ground glass is favorable for the concrete, thus validating the proposed hypothesis.
