The present investigation was developed in the city of Trujillo-Peru, the influence of adding construction waste on the resistance to bending of lightened slabs. For this, wire waste was collected from the structural elements formwork, from the construction of the San Gabriel building located in the urb. The Hortencias of California - Trujillo. The purpose of the study is to take advantage of the waste generated during the formwork of footings, columns, plates, beams, and another in conventional construction to improve the strength and mechanical behavior of the lightened slabs. Different specimens that simulated a light slab with the presence of linear elements (pipes) were evaluated, to later study its resistance to bending after adding different percentages by weight of wire No. 08, with the purpose of incorporating construction residues with elastic properties that work as mechanical reinforcement of the lightened slabs. The research is of experimental type, and had a statistical population of 51 specimens; to evaluate the mechanical property of resistance to bending and confinement by means of the Poisson's coefficient in the concrete of reinforced slabs with wire fibers. Regarding the results, it was observed that the settlement of the concrete decreased slightly when the fiber content was increased, in addition to the bending test of beams showed that the cracking resistance or modulus of rupture increases with increasing fiber content. The results showed that the modulus of elasticity decreases when it increases the dosage of fibers because there is greater absorption of energy. It is concluded that the strength and tenacity increase slightly with the content of steel fibers, reaching the best results when the dosage is 15 kg / m3 of steel fiber. Keywords: - Construction waste. Flexural strength. Lightened slabs
