The present investigation developed the analysis of the seismic vulnerability of informal housing conformed by a masonry system confined in the town center Menocucho, District of Laredo, Province Trujillo, Department La Libertad. The populated center Menocucho has grown considerably in recent years, there being a large number of informal homes that were built by their owners without any professional advice, so this research was carried out in order to determine how vulnerable these homes are to a seismic event, based on standards such as the E-030 earthquake-resistant design and the E-070 of confined masonry. This research is non-experimental because only the independent variable was observed, having as a sample 50 informal homes of the Menocucho populated center and the technique used is the Survey using the Questionnaire instrument for data collection, and with respect to data analysis , the descriptive statistics method was used. For the evaluation of the seismic vulnerability of the informal homes, in a first stage a data collection sheet was applied, with which it was possible to have historical information that contemplates the quality of labor used in the construction, and structural information of the homes studied, such as the density of existing walls in both directions of the structure and the stability of the non-bearing walls such as partitions, parapets and perimeter. These 3 factors were processed and the seismic vulnerability of informal housing was determined. The results obtained were that the density of walls in the X direction was rated as adequate to 9 homes, acceptable to 2 homes and inadequate to 39 homes; and with respect to address Y, 45 homes were classified as adequate, acceptable to 0 homes and inadequate to 5 homes. The stability of non-bearing walls when turning was obtained as stable to 2 homes, some stable to 34 homes and all unstable to 14 homes. With respect to the evaluation of the workforce, 4 houses were obtained as good, regular 25 houses and 11 houses poor. The main conclusion was that the homes of the Menocucho populated center have an 80% seismic vulnerability, an average of 12% and an 8% decrease, so that the homes of the populated Menocucho center have a high degree of seismic vulnerability.
