Introduction: Students have a learning style which can lead them to academic success or failure due to the results of the studies that are reflected in the average of the grades obtained at the end of each course. Students do not reflect on their methods of study, especially they are concerned about passing courses to avoid problems of disapproval, but knowing their learning styles would help them improve the way they learn and consequently take advantage of their strengths to improve their academic performance. Objective: To establish the relationship between the learning style and the academic performance of the students of the second cycle of the Faculty of Human Medicine of the Universidad Peruana los Andes - 2019. Method: the study is of quantitative approach, of relational level, of type Relational, transversal, prospective, applied, with correlational design. The population was 141 students of the II cycle of the academic period 2019-II, of the Faculty of Human Medicine The sample was made up of 98 students according to the formula for proportions, it was used as a data collection technique to assess the style of I learn the Chaea survey and the Documentary Record of academic performance. Results: a regular academic performance was found in 56.1%, followed by deficient in 31.6%, good in 10.2% and very good in 2%. The learning styles found were reflective in 43.9%, pragmatic in 29.6%, theoretical in 14.3% and finally the active style in 12.2%. There is a significant relationship between learning style and academic performance, with a Pearson's Xi-square = 43.01, gl = 9 p = 0.000; it is evident that there is a relationship between the dimension: active learning style and academic performance. Not so with the other three styles under study as with the reflexive, theoretical and pragmatic style with which there is no relationship (p <0.05),
