The investigation has sought to determine the relationship between traffic accidents and road safety of residents of Metropolitan Lima, period 2019. In this sense, the implementation of the research is of the applied type, responds to the quantitative correlational-descriptive approach; under the non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population considered is the one sampled and the sample considered in the study is made up of 110 residents of Lima Cercado. The technique used was that of the survey and documentary analysis; which allowed to gather the information for the present study. The result obtained according to Rho de Spearman is that there is a correlation equal to -0.845 between traffic accidents and road safety. It is a negative relationship and strong magnitude. In addition, the sample is highly significant because it is the level of significance (sig. = 0.000) which is less than the value p = 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the research hypothesis (Hi) is accepted. That is, there is a significant relationship between traffic accidents and the road safety of residents of Metropolitan Lima, period 2019. Concluding that more traffic accidents to less road safety or greater road safety and fewer traffic accidents because there is a relationship between both variables.
