The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between procrastination and academic performance in students from 3rd of 5th the Militarized Educational Institution Almirante Miguel Grau “El Caballero” High School - Huaraz, 2019. The study corresponded to a non-experimental cross-sectional design, while the level of research is correlational, for which we worked with a sample of 51 students, both male and female, whose ages range from 14 to 17 years, Enrolled in grades 3rd to 5th of Admiral Miguel Grau “el caballero” High School - Huaraz in the 2019 school year. For the measurement of procrastination, the questionnaire Procrastination Scale in Adolescents was used and the Consolidated Minutes of Integral Evaluation (average grade record) were used to know the academic performance. The results found reveal that 66.67% of schoolchildren, students from 3rd to 5th grade of secondary education have a medium level in terms of the degree of procrastination towards their academic duties, while 70.59% of them they are in the process stage (grade point average varying from 11 to 16) regarding academic performance; Likewise, he realizes the existence of a high negative relationship (Spearman's Rho = - 0.946) between procrastination and academic performance, interpreting it as "most procrastination, the academic performance is lower".
