The present study of bivariate nature, aimed to determine the relationship between study habits and formative research in students of the Peruvian University of Science and Information Technology, 2019-I. Likewise, it was framed within the quantitative approach, of a non-experimental basic type and of a correlational level; In addition to cross section because the data was collected at a single time. In this sense, it had a population, the sample and sampling of 100 students belonging to the schools of Administration and International Business, Accounting, Audit and Finance, Law and Political Science, Systems Engineering and Computer Science and Industrial Engineering of the Peruvian University of Science and Information Technology, 2019. In fact, the type of sampling used in the study corresponded to the non-probabilistic one, since it was based on the criteria of the researcher, which is why the census sampling was chosen , this technique considers the entire population because they have access to all selected students who are able to participate in the development of this research. In that sense, the entire population is considered a sample Similarly, for the collection of information, two questionnaires were applied: study habits and formative research, instruments that were validated by experts from the same university; whose reliability was done through a pilot test, through KR20, for which a sample of 20 students from a university institution of similar characteristics as the UPCI Huaraz was selected. Indeed, the study habits perceived by the surveyed students indicated a medium level (54%), while at the high level (44%), in sum, these opinions are favorable and find their correlation in formative research, with a medium level (55.0%) and another significant proportion at the high level (35.0%), which also gives rise to a favorable perception among students. This opinion was later corroborated in the association of the variables, given that a relationship was found at the medium level (46.0%) and to a lesser extent at the high level (35.0%), results that were confirmed in the inferential plane to have been found a positive relationship, of high magnitude and statistically significant (Rho = 0.818, p = .000 <0.05), which indicates there are sufficient reasons to state that study habits and formative research are highly related.
