The education in Peru presents many problems, one of them is linked to the self-assertion of the teens in the high schools as a consequence of bad influences to which students are risky outside or inside the Institution and that they reflect it in a bad way in the classrooms or in their homes. For that reason, the case-study purpose is referred to determine the effect of the application of the academic music in the self-assertion in the pupils of the third degree D of secondary school of the I.E.I. “Hermilio Valdizán” of Huánuco 2014. Research was somewhat diligent, with a quasi experimental design. The population was integrated by two hundred one (201) pupils, from where an intentional sample of fourteen (14) students. A guide of observation validated by judgment of experts picked up intervening information herself. The general hypothesis was checked (Tcalculated = 10.56 > Tcensor = 2.2), turning out well positive changes in the self-assertion in the pupils. For that is concluded that the academic music influences significantly the reduction of self-assertion, with a confidence level of the 95 %
