Abstract: Hubo muchos otros artistas que expresaron su propio dolor a través de sus obras, como Frida Kahlo, Hania García Dávalos, entre otras. En la presente tesis, la artista muestra el sufrimiento que, en silencio que padecen muchas mujeres en el mundo. Por ello, el objetivo general es la interpretación gráfica del sufrimiento de las pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino en xilografía, serigrafía y chine collé. La metodología de investigación empleada fue la observación y descripción de las obras a través de una representación contemporánea de la figura femenina, en relación con el cáncer de cuello uterino y sus consecuencias. El análisis introspectivo para la interpretación surrealista del significado de las emociones y las etapas de la enfermedad resumidas en un discurso crítico que describe e interpreta cada obra gráfica. También, analiza en conjunto las obras a través de la descripción e interpretación de los paradigmas semióticos y/o categorizaciones; así como, la relación que existe entre categorías que interactúan con el espectador y ayudan a entender el mensaje de la obra. Se aprecia cómo la artista construye su idea para representar el dolor y sufrimiento de las pacientes, teniendo como medio de expresión la figura humana femenina. Como conclusión, se llegó a interpretar el sufrimiento de las pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino mediante una expresión surrealista en las técnicas del grabado.
There were many other artists who expressed their own pain through their works, such as Frida Kahlo, Hania García Dávalos, among others. In the present thesis, the artist shows the suffering in silence that many women suffer in the world. Therefore, the general objective isthe graphic interpretation of the suffering of cervical cancer patients in woodcut, silkscreen and Chine Collé. The research methodology employed is the observation and description of the works through a contemporary representation of the female figure in relation to cervical cancer and its consequences. The introspective analysis for the surrealistic interpretation of the meaning of emotions and the stages of illness summarised in a critical discourse that describes and interprets each graphic work. It also analyses the works as a whole through the description and interpretation of the semiotic paradigms and/or categorisations, as well as the relationship that exists between categories that interact with the spectator and help to understand the message of the work. It can be seen how the artist constructs her idea to represent the pain and suffering of the patients using the female human figure as a means of expression. In conclusion, the suffering of patients with cervical cancer was interpreted with a surrealistic expression in the techniques of engraving.
