The work presents a medium-sized company in the metal-mechanical sector, specifically in the manufacture of metal structures of different types. The company's main problem is a low production efficiency of 78.7% in the manufacture of Reefers Racks. This causes the company economic losses due to overcosts in payroll and overtime payments. This is due to excessive times in the assembly process and unnecessary times for handling and transfer of materials to the enabled area. The problem was addressed with the application of two Lean Manufacturing tools. With the application of S-WORK, the assembly process was standardized in the face of the variety of manual operations. Assembly times improved from 486 hours to 408 hours. With SLP, the plant distribution was optimized and with it the flow of material throughout the manufacturing plant. The times for handling and transfer of material to the enabled area were reduced from 280 hours to 235 hours. With the implementation of these two tools, the production efficiency was increased from 78.7% to 87.3% in the manufacture of Reefers Racks. In addition, the project brought about non-economic improvements, as it generated better ergonomic conditions for the company's operating staff. On the other hand, the implementation was favoured in non-economic aspects, mainly in the workplace, as manual activities involving inadequate postures were simplified; in this way, it contributed to minimising the risk of accidents. Finally, the project proved viable, as the results of the economic evaluation were positive, with a cost benefit of 1.23.
