The present study is focused on the workers of a company that provides logistical services for the storage of mineral concentrates in the port of Callao; these workers are overexposed to high lead concentrations. The purpose of this study is to propose controls that help reduce occupational exposure to lead among warehouse workers. The measurements were carried out according to the NIOSH 7300 method of the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Concluding that in the 36 measurements of lead carried out over a year between 2018 and 2019 in the lead concentrate warehouse, 89% resulted with levels above the permissible limit. However, when estimating the protection from the use of the 3M half-face respirator, it was found that the CMU of the half-face respirator is insufficient because 31.5% of the measurements are above that CMU. The 95th percentile exceeds the half-face respirator CMU, but is less than the full-face respirator CMU of 2.5 mg/m3. However, with 95% confidence, 7.1% of the exposures exceed the CMU of the full-face respirator.
