In the activity of Mining, in its operational processes, one of the most important parameters in maintenance engineering. In the present investigation the method of “Criticality Analysis” is developed to optimize reliability. Expansion Plant Production Dry Zone of Shougang Hierro Perú, which responds to the problem: To what extent is the analysis of the criticism used in a tool to improve the reliability of the critical equipment of the Company´s Expansion Plant Production Dry Zone? Shogang Hierro Perú? considering as a hypothesis “Establishing a method as an aid instrument in the determination of the hierarchy and importance of the equipment, systems and processes of the Expansion Plant Production Dry Zone, allowing to subdivide the elements into areas that can be managed in a controlled and auditable manner” Regarding its methodology is descriptive, correlational design. The sample conformed by the teams with high criticism resulting from the previous evaluation; the technique of the survey and the questionnaire was applied to the critical equipment. In conclusion, critical analysis must be used as a tool to significantly improve the availability of the critical equipment and with this optimize the reliability of the Shougang Hierro Perú Expansion Plant Production Dry Zone.
