The electrification of the automotive fleet is a global trend, but many countries do not have the expected success in the rate of penetration, since they have not been able to overcome the barriers to its adoption, the goals proposed for the massification of EVs have not been achieved. The purpose of this thesis is to propose and quantitatively evaluate the policies that should be carried out in Peru, by public authorities and decision makers, to overcome these barriers and help the energy transition from fossil fuels to electricity, in the future. transport sector. According to references, developing countries will have a greater obstacle or a lower rate of adoption, being the determining economic factor in favor or against the adoption of EVs. This thesis evaluates the benefits of the mass use of EVs by users of light vehicles for private use in Peru. This work contributes new knowledge to studies of social impact in the transport and energy sector; using a combination of quantitative methods in the Social Impact Assessment (SIA), which allow studying the introduction of EV technology in the socio- economic context of Metropolitan Lima, focusing on the interest groups of the light private vehicle market. The first part of this work investigates the barriers that prevent the massification of EVs, and then investigates the policies that local authorities and decision makers must implement to help the introduction and massification of said vehicles. Several references show that without the support and encouragement from the authorities, the transition to this new technology is very difficult, for this reason the integration of policies that facilitate the successful technological and energy transition of the transport sector, towards the massification of EVs, is proposed. The second part tries to analyze the environmental impact of electric vehicles on the emission of CO2 equivalent gases, from vehicles with MCI. Then, different local parameters of the Lima automotive fleet are studied and the influence of these parameters on greenhouse gas emissions is analyzed. In the third part, it is proposed to analyze the impact of EV's on fossil fuel consumption, the effects on energy consumption in Peru, study the dependence of this energy resource in the country mainly in the transport sector, this analysis begins to starting from creating scenarios with different rates of penetration in the local market, and forecasting the demand for fossil fuel, as well as the electricity demand that will be generated. It is worth reiterating that it has been previously determined that the economic factor will be the main barrier and that vehicle loans will be the main policy to help its adoption, followed by dissemination and publicity policies.
