In this thesis, the first-order relativistic equations for fields with arbitrary spin will be de- rived. Specifically, the DKP equation and the algebra that its matrices must satisfy. Fur- thermore, a comprehensive review of the solutions of the Dirac equation will be undertaken, with the aim of studying a subset of solutions by way of a Majorana representation of the Y matrices, and an analysis of their reality condition. A study will also be conducted on the resolution of the DKP equation for the case of free fields using wave packets, and their charge conjugation transformation by minimal coupling with the electromagnetic field. Finally, analogous to the process of obtaining the reality condition for Majorana fields, the Majorana-type DKP fields will be characterized, that is, the DKP fields that model chargeless particles in the case of spin-0 fields.
