This Professional Sufficiency Paper deals with the impact of the application of the tools or methodologies of one of the new production management systems known as “Lean Manufacturing“ or “Lean Manufacturing“, whose main objective is to position itself as a competitive company in the non-traditional construction sector based on the fact that the client demands a lower price and shorter product response time, while maintaining a high level of quality. To achieve this, it needed to increase its production management capacity by increasing its productivity and the need for continuous improvement in each of its processes. Four stages were defined for the development of the project: 1. Diagnosis of the operation and opportunity for improvement. 2. Training of personnel, creation of habits and change of mentality. 3. Application of those tools and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies that adapt to the business. 4. Analysis of the impact of continuous improvement and optimization of the production system. The first stage consisted in identifying the critical points of the process and the controls established by the organization according to the deployment of objectives and strategies of the company; the second stage contemplated a change of mentality of the personnel through the implementation of the 5s system as a basis for the continuous improvement of the processes; the third stage worked on a proposed solution to the critical points of the manufacturing process through the use of a collection of tools and methodologies (5'S, Kaizen and SMED), the same that allowed to achieve the two basic characteristics of the Lean production system: eliminating all activities that do not add value to the product, understood as “waste“, and achieving “flexibility“ in the product, process and workstations. Finally, the fourth stage quantified the continuous improvement and optimization of production management by measuring the KPIs and all the collateral benefits.
