The present experimental research work has been carried out at the Centenario Concentrator Plant located in the province of Huaral, department of Lima, which studies the metallurgical evaluation of the factors involved in the flotation process of the copper concentrate. to solve the low grade and recovery of copper and gold in the copper concentrate. To this end, we use the support of experimental design to evaluate and optimize the parameters that affect the copper concentrate flotation process, thus effectively and significantly reducing the cost of research. In this study we used the first stage of elimination in which we used a fractional factorial design with two response variables: the first variable is % copper recovery and the second variable is % gold recovery. The experimental factors or parameters that will be studied in the copper concentrate flotation process are: sodium cyanide (NaCN), sodium isopropyl xanthate (Z-11), degree of release (% m-200) and Di-(2 -ethylhexyl) phosphate (P-204) to determine the effect and significance that each of these has in the recovery of copper and gold, in order to remain with the two most influential and important factors to move to the optimization stage. Detailing what was previously written, determining the two most important factors and then with the application of the octagonal design optimize the objective of this study, which is to increase the grade of copper and gold. Finally, this experimental optimization procedure will have a positive impact on processing costs such as: lower consumption of reagents, lower energy used by the equipment and also this copper concentrate will have greater value in its commercialization.
