Currently there is great interest in the use of renewable energies obtained from different natural sources such as the sea, the wind, the sun, among others. In the case of the sea, tidal energy uses different technologies to take advantage of the energy provided by waves through an oscillating water column system. The importance of this system lies in the mechanical use obtained by a buoy or other ocean device to convert it into another form of energy. In this thesis the different factors are considered for the design of a Wells turbine, WT, which is part of an oscillating water column system, OWC. For this design, the geographical location of the OWC system is analyzed, through the waves and wave period on Matarani beach, in the year 2022. Also, numerical simulations of the OWC were carried out to obtain the air flow to the input of the WT with the initial conditions. The power delivered by the waves P=8.52 kW is determined and the dimensionless design parameters U*,T* and P* are calculated, as well as the efficiency of the turbine. From the 2D CFD simulation of the OWC system, the wind speed U=5 m/s is obtained, which serves as a starting point for the WT design calculations. The numerical analysis of the WT blade is carried out with a NACA 0015 profile, so that the viability of the WT is presented in the efficiency η=54.53%, validating the calculations of this thesis.
