In the consumer industry, the manufacture and packing companies have quality controls through different production stages to achieve the technical specifications of all the products that they produce, one of these specifications is the quantity of product, which is established in the Peruvian Metrologic Standard NMP 002:2018. With the goal of achieving this specification, the manufacture companies implement automated systems in their process, all of this to reach with the allowable weight ranges inside the national or international regulatory framework. Accordingly, this research has the objective to improve the dosage of a packaging machine in a production line of dishwashing cream paste, this based on a fuzzy controller. For this, as a first step, the data of the pot weights is collected with the goal of having a baseline. After that, the data of the main variables that are directly related to a correct dosage of the product will be analyzed. Finally, to design a control algorithm that allows maintaining control of the packaged product, for this, a PID controller (proportional, integral and derivative) was proposed and compared against a fuzzy controller. To finally conclude that the fuzzy controller presented a better performance for the different production formats that are produced in the package machine.
