This research aims to optimize the design of a worm and wormgear reducer by analyzing the stresses on the teeth. The 3D model of the worm and wormgear is generated using the KissSoft 17 software to ensure accuracy in their coupling, without interference between their teeth. Subsequently, a simulation is performed using the Ansys 19.2 software in static mode to calculate critical stresses in the teeth of the worm gear. By adjusting the permissible force on the teeth of the worm gear, the objective is to reduce its size by reducing its width, with the aim of reducing its mass.
