The city of Lima is in a highly seismic zone categorized according to (NTE E.030- Diseño Sismorresitente, 2018) Z4 for being located between the Nazca and South American plates. In addition, since 1746 this region has gone a silence seismic, which would lead to great human and materials losses a seismic event of great magnitude in the order of 8.6-8.8 Mw. based on the study of (Pulido, Aguilar, & Tavera, 2015). The present research was developed with the purpose of knowing the dynamic response of the paraboloid structure FIC-UNI due to environmental vibrations and external forces using Operation Modal Analysis (OMA), which assumes that response as a combination of modes of the structure parameterized by inherent properties, such as: The natural frequency, damping and modal shapes. At the same time, these values depend on the type of material, geometry, and boundary conditions (Rainieri & Fabbrocino, 2014). The paraboloid FIC-UNI is a structure with almost 60 years of design and considered as an essential category according to (NTE E.030-Diseño Sismorresitente, 2018). This means it will serve as a refuge in cases of seismic events of great magnitude, safeguarding human life. Therefore, old buildings must be evaluated to know which structural performance will be in the face of large seismic solicitations generated based on recorded events in Lima City, such as: Lima 1966, Ancash 1970 and 1974. Being able to make preventive decisions against these events, which will ultimately happen. This was accomplished through ongoing procedures, such as experimental study of the structure (Dynamic response of the structure, foundation auscultation and extraction of reinforced concrete samples), modeling of the structure calibrating with the parameters obtained previously, generation of synthetic seismic records, computational analysis to observe the performance of the structure and its subsequent analysis and discussion of results.
