This thesis studied the impact of the Last Planner System (LPS) methodology in the construction of Vacuum Distillation Unit of one refinery with production capacity of 95,000 barrels of oil per day, located in northern Peru. The general objective of the study was to improve the reliability of the weekly work plans. The sample consisted of 1 of the 16 units of the refinery. The design used was experimental. The instruments used were the weekly reports. The result obtained was an increase in reliability to 87%. This improvement was achieved by reducing uncertainty and variability through collaborative planning sessions, visually sharing information to all involved, and creating a virtuous circle of continuous improvement with active participation of key personnel to generate more reliable commitments.
