The following research follows the productivity indicators analysis of a mineral loading equipment to improve the operational performance and reduce costs. An analytical method was used for the research, with a descriptive and explanatory nature. The work was conceptual, for which the different factors were observed and analyzed for the loading and hauling equipment, both in ore and waste rock and the evaluation of the main key performance indicators (KPI) in operations. The performance of loading equipment is directly dependent on operational factors in a regular mining operation. By measuring the productivity indicators, improvement points can be determined when using equipment during loading and to change processes in the activities that follows it in the production chain. For this reason, when using the study of times as management indicators, it can be identified that the productivity of a CAT 390 FL excavator during truck loading tasks is related to the coupling that both machineries have, taking into account the delay times in loading on each one of them, the waiting time (Hang), and operational parameters of the design of the banks: width and height of mining. For loading with the excavator, the tons that can be loaded each operating hour during the times of effective use of the equipment will be measured as a production indicator. The results obtained for the CAT 390 FL excavator were a loading cycle time of 1.23 minutes and a current performance in the field of 942.9 t/h. and a potential hourly production through the operational analysis of loading, an increase was determined to 1000.0 t/h. This is directly related to the mechanical efficiency applied in the operation of the equipment in the mining company. Finally, the main causes that affect production were determined: waiting times for undersized dump trucks and excavator positioning times.
