The treatment process for the tailings line of the Bofedal-III dam of the Minsur Mining Company - San Rafael Unit located in the department of Puno, province of Melgar, district of Antauta, is carried out with a dosage of lime and flocculants in a manual, this process is subject to the perception and experience of the operator. This type of treatment is unreliable, because it is susceptible to errors, such as the calculation of the amount of dosage of the reagents, additionally there are no historical records or monitoring that help verify the behavior of the process continuously and it is not possible to meet the requirements of the internal and external audit processes. The present work describes the implementation of a supervision and control system for the treatment process of the tailings line of the Bofedal-III dam and its purpose is to improve the reliability of the current process, controlling the pH level and the dosage rate of flocculants. For this, the solution of implementing a control logic for the lime plant and the flocculants plant is proposed, through the use of control equipment PLC (Programmer Logic Controller), remote process variable acquisition equipment RIO (Remote Input/Output), user interface equipment HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and a supervision and control system SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). This will allow controlling the pH level of the tailings and the flocculants dosage rate. Additionally, the SCADA will allow continuous recording and monitoring of the critical variables of the process. This information can also be generated in daily report files in order to meet the requirements of the internal and external audit processes.
